His birth certificate says Anton,
but he’s sure there was to be a y on the end.
He’s bought one headstone for their double plot, he tells me,
with his name and her maiden one already engraved.
He has asked her to go there to see it, but she refuses.
I imagine he wants to stand there with her, holding her hand,
like he has since he was twenty.
